Sports: Lindauer makes Bandits home debut; Mallards season ends

Mallards fall in game 7, Moline signings

The Quad City Mallards fell in the best of seven series to the Allen Americans, 4-3.  The Mallards played from behind in the deciding game. Quad City would get goals from Jim Mckenzie and Nick Grasso, but could never get the equalizer.  The Mallards end their season with their first trip to the CHL semifinals since 2003.

After being rained out for two straight days the Quad Cities River Bandits and Clinton LumberKings finally took the field for a double header.  Clinton jumped out to an early 6-run lead scoring in the 3rd, 4th and 5th innings.  The game marked the first home game for Thomas Lindauer.

Two Moline High School student athletes made their college choices official with a signing ceremony. Merritt Johnson a 3-year varsity volleyball player will attend UW-Platteville in the fall.  Tanner Logan a 2-year varsity basketball player will stay close to home as he will play at Augustana.
