Tornado warning for Cedar, Jones, Linn Counties cancelled

A tornado warning issued for Cedar County, Jones County, and Linn County has been cancelled.

The National Weather Service originally said the warning was in effect until 5:15 p.m. It was cancelled at 4:55 p.m.

“A confirmed tornado was located near Mount Vernon and moving northeast at 45 mph.” said the NWS.

Quarter sized hail was expected to be produced from this storm.
