The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Quad Cities and counties to the southwest.
The watch was in effect Sunday, April 27 until 9 p.m.
The following Iowa counties were included in the watch: Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Louisa, Van Buren.
The following Illinois counties were included in the watch: Henry, Mercer, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, and Warren.
“The biggest threats will be hail and damaging wind but isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out,” said StormTrack 8 Meteorologist Cassie Heiter. “It’s very important to stay weather aware as you go through the day.”
