The Quad City Mallards took control in their best of 7 series with Allen in the CHL playoffs. The Mallards would score first on a goal from Mike Monfredo with just 50-seconds to play in the first period. Neither team scored in the second. In the third Allen got two goals to take the lead. Quad City got the equalizer from Jordan Mayer, his 7th of the playoffs, under a minute to play sending the game to overtime. In the overtime Mallards scored the game winner on a Mike Stinziani breakaway goal. It was the second straight game Quad City Mallards won in overtime.
