Gilda’s Run for Laughs was held on Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Bettendorf. Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities helps provide emotional and social support for cancer patients and their families. Proceeds from the 5k race went toward helping Gilda’s missions.

“It’s heartwarming to see all the people out here supporting Gilda's Club and also supporting the community and supporting their friends and family who have or are dealing with a cancer diagnosis,” said race director Sue Kaiser.

Roughly 800 runners took to the streets to help the cause, and among them were StormTrack 8 Meteorologist James Zahara. News 8’s Kory Kuffler also ran in the crowd, and finished first in his age group and first overall.

WQAD is a proud sponsor of the event.
