Bettendorf drivers may come across a detour on their daily commute.
According to the City of Bettendorf, construction crews will be working on widening 18th Street from New Lexington Drive to Navajo Drive beginning Monday, April 28, 2014.
Crews planned to widen 18th St. from 44 feet to 47 feet from New Lexington Dr. to St. Johns Court. From St. Johns Court to Navajo Dr. the roadway was set to have full width reconstruction and widening to 47 feet.
A spokesperson from the city said that local traffic would be detoured northbound on 18th St. and southbound traffic was set to be detoured from Navajo Dr. to Lindbergh Dr., to Apple Valley Drive, to Aspen Hills Drive, to New Lexington Drive and then back onto 18th Street.
A main detour will be marked. Signs will be posted around 18th Street using 53rd Ave., Devils Glen Rd., Tanglefoot Lane, and Utica Ridge Rd.
