A cab driver was robbed and stabbed on the job after picking up riders in Davenport.

Don Schaeffer, Assistant Chief of Davenport Police, said the stabbing occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014. The Lucky Cab driver picked up two people at Locust Street and Bridge Avenue in Davenport and once they were near 17th Street and Division Street, one rider started stabbing the driver’s head and shoulder area.

Police said the two took all of the cab driver's money as well as his cell phone, and took-off on foot.

Schaeffer said the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Details will be added as information becomes available.

@Tony, he is still in the hospital and very much medicated. I am sure once he is a little more competent they will get a better account of the details and include a description.
Note the story ended with them saying as they get more details, so
will you. I know this driver very well and don’t mean to sound rude, but he is in a lot of pain.

Set up the cabs like they do in Chicago and New York…plexiglas separating the driver and passenger that is closed…and credit card machine attached to the back of the seat…
