Cab driver stabbed, robbed in Davenport

A cab driver was robbed and stabbed on the job after picking up riders in Davenport.

Don Schaeffer, Assistant Chief of Davenport Police, said the stabbing occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014. The Lucky Cab driver picked up two people at Locust Street and Bridge Avenue in Davenport and once they were near 17th Street and Division Street, one rider started stabbing the driver’s head and shoulder area.

Police said the two took all of the cab driver’s money as well as his cell phone, and took-off on foot.

Schaeffer said the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
