For the second time in four days, a home invasion has been reported in Sterling, Illinois.

Police say they think a homeowner walked in on a burglary in progress just before 3 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at a home in the 1100 block of East 16th Street.

"(T)he suspect struck the homeowner as he fled on foot.  The homeowner received minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene," said a statement from Sterling Police Detective Mike Henry.

A homeowner was reportedly hurt trying to escape when two men broke into a home in the 800 block of Avenue D just before 6 a.m. Sunday, April 20.  Myron Cureton, 36, of Chicago, was charged and he turned himself in to police two days later.  His alleged accomplice was still at large.

Police did not indicate whether any direct connection might exist between the two incidents.
