A man wanted in connection with a home invasion in Sterling, Illinois has turned himself in to police.
A spokesman for Sterling Police said a homeowner was injured as he tried to escape when 36-year-old Myron Cureton, of Chicago, and another man broke into a home in the 800 block of Avenue D at about 5:45 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Cureton was allegedly armed during the home invasion, and police said he and an accomplice left the victim’s home in a gray minivan.
Police said Cureton turned himself in to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday, April 22, 2014. He was charged with felony home invasion, and he was held in the Whiteside County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Cureton’s alleged accomplice, whose name was not released, remained at large. He was described as a black man, less than 5-feet, 11-inches tall with a thin build.
