For nearly a whole day, authorities were searching for a man they say escaped from police custody in Iowa.

WHO reported that on Friday, April 18, 2014 Kenny Bevard was back in police custody after being apprehended near Norwalk, which is just south of Des Moines.

Previous reports indicate that Bevard was in police custody being transported from one facility to another when he escaped from Clive, Iowa on Thursday.

According to WHO, police received a tip about his location on Friday afternoon. When he was apprehended, the 37-year-old was hiding under a porch of a home in Prole, Iowa.

WHO reported that a lieutenant with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said 41-year-old Casey Risius is suspected of helping Bevard escape. Risius has been charged with aiding and abetting an escapee.

Along with the initial charges against Bevard connected to a string of thefts, he now also faces a felony escape charge, according to WHO. He was held in the Polk County Jail.
