Students around Muscatine had the chance to explore what a local community college had to offer in the agriculture and manufacturing fields.

On Thursday, April 10, 2014 Muscatine Community College hosted a Junior Achievement Career Expo for students to attend. More than 130 students were there to learn about potential careers. They had the opportunity to check out equipment that professionals in those fields would use.

“It is a really cool opportunity,” said Joseph Ernst, senior at Muscatine High School. “It’s a lot of stuff I didn’t know. I didn’t realize how nice the shop was here, I didn’t realize how much they had here.”

A scholarship essay contest was held for students looking to go into agriculture or manufacturing at Muscatine Community College.
