Woman stabbed in Moline neighborhood

Police say a woman was stabbed in the throat and chest in a Moline neighborhood. Police had a man in custody in connection with the stabbing.

Police say a woman was stabbed in the throat and chest in a Moline neighborhood.

A spokesperson from the Moline Police said shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 a 38-year-old woman was stabbed in a home in the 800 block of 20th Avenue after a domestic dispute.

A spokesperson with the Moline Police said Iowa officers had arrested Charles Christopher Gore in connection with the stabbing. Jail records show that the 47-year-old was taken into custody around 3 p.m. and his bond was set at $500,000.

The incident stirred shock in the neighborhood. Neighbors said nothing like that had ever happened in that area.

“This is a quiet neighborhood,” said neighbor Christina Krakliow. “This is one of the reasons why we moved here and then you know, I've got kids, you just don’t think about this happening in any neighborhood.”

Police said the woman’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The name of the victim had not yet been released.
