A photographer helped a California man, dying of cancer, realize some milestone moments he might otherwise miss.

That included documenting Jim Zetz’s “walk down the aisle” with his 11-year-old daughter, Josie.

Zetz, 62, has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He knows he won’t get to see Josie graduate from high school or college, or get married. Josie’s upcoming birthday was the last one she’d get to spend with her dad. So, photographer Lindsey Villatoro photographed Zetz’s family in one of their final portraits.

Villatoro transformed the Zetz’s back yard into a wedding venue. She got hair and makeup stylists to help Josie and her mom get ready for their special day.

“Your dad may not get to see you get married, but he is here to walk you down the aisle today,” Pastor Gary Galbraith said. “The daddy and daughter relationship is one of the most special relationships in life.”

And with those words, he pronounced Josie and Jim “daddy and daughter.”
