A Missouri police officer said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from a car he pulled over for a traffic violation.

The odor was believed to have come from hundreds of pounds of pot stashed in the vehicle.

Police pulled over the car at an intersection in O’Fallon, Missouri at about 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 according to our sister station, KTVI. The strong odor prompted the officer to summon a police dog, which alerted investigators to marijuana in the car.

Nine bundles were seized. Total weight of the bundles was more than 200 pounds.

Vista Scott, 23, and Matthew Serrano, 38, both of Los Lunas, New Mexico, were arrested. Court records show they were each charged with second-degree accessory to trafficking in drugs. They were each held in the St. Charles County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash-only bond.
