Police were searching for a man who allegedly stole a carton of cigarettes from behind the customer service counter at the Rock Island Hy-Vee.
The theft happened just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Hy-Vee at 2930 18th Avenue in Rock Island.
The man went behind the customer service counter, stole a carton of Marlboro cigarettes and left in a 1990s four-door Oldsmobile or Buick car according to Rock Island Police.
A surveillance camera captured an image of the alleged thief, which police hope will lead someone to turn him in. The man was believed to be in his twenties, and is about 5-feet 10-inches tall.
