After taking home the gold in Sochi, Russia, two QC native paralympic athletes got a grand welcome home.

Andy Yohe and Kevin McKee played on the U.S.A. Paralympic Sled Hockey team and won gold against Russia on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Two weeks later, on Saturday, March 29 a celebration for the athletes was held at Rookies Sports Bar in Davenport.

“It’s just great to come back and show them what we’ve won,” said McKee. “Everyone watched and it’s so cool to have that and now they get to see it.”

“It’s definitely good coming back and knowing that you were able to accomplish a big goal like that,” said Yohe. “All of us worked really hard over the last couple years to bring back this gold medal, so it’s really special.”
