An Oquawka woman was jailed after investigators said she stole more than $100,000 from a local gas station.

Tonya Cook, 40, was arrested just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, after investigators followed up on a complaint that money was missing from the Day Break Gas Station, 101 S. 8th Street in the Village of Oquawka.

Cook’s arrest followed a criminal complaint alleging she stole more than $100,000 from that gas station according to a statement from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department.

Cook was awaiting her first appearance in court, and was held in the Henderson County Jail.
