A Henry County, Iowa Sheriff’s Department dispatcher was fired and faces criminal charges for allegedly stealing money from her employer.

Jami Mallonee is charged with one count of 4th-degree theft according to a statement from Iowa State Police.

In an annual audit, the Iowa State Auditor’s Office confirmed financial discrepancies reported by Henry County Sheriff Rich McNarnee in the fall of 2013, the statement said.

After that confirmation, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation joined the case in January 2014.

The investigation concluded March 20, 2014.  That’s when Mallonee was terminated from her job and charged with theft.
