With all precincts reporting, Jim Oberweis led challenger Douglas Traux in the race for U.S. Senate.

With all precincts reporting, Oberweis had received 416,905 votes (56%); Traux had 326,754 votes (44%).

Our sister station WGN-TV had projected Oberweis as the winner with more than 80% of the 10,128 Illinois precincts reporting.  Oberweis led at that time 58% to 42%.
