Voters in Rock Island County voted no to increase the sales tax by one percent to fund school facilities. The votes were 56 to 44 percent. It was disappointing news to the group Yes Makes Cents, a committee advocating for the sales tax.

"They're going to delay much needed investment in school security. We're not going to see property tax relief. We're not going to be able to modernized the school facilities," says Porter McNeil, a spokesperson for the group.

Even though the tax wasn't approved McNeil says this won't be end to their fight.
