Homes on River Road started to see flooding Friday in Rock Island County. The homes are just south of the John Deere Classic Tournament Office.

The Silvis Fire Department is already checking on the homes there to see if anyone needs help. Fire fighters say they have not needed to aid anyone yet. They also say the homeowners are very used to flooding, but usually not this early.

Rock Island County leaders have not enabled their emergency plan, but they are also checking on homes near the Rock River. If you're concerned about flooding, you're asked to contact the Emergency Management Agency.

The National Weather Service measured the Rock River Friday, March 14th, at 11.37 feet around 9 a.m. That is "near flood stage," according to their website. The Rock River faces an "elevated flood risk" this coming spring.
