When and where streets will be closed for the St. Patrick’s Day race and parade

The Grand Parade XXIX was scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2014.

The parade was set to begin at 23rd Street and 4th Avenue in Rock Island at 11:30 a.m. The parade route crosses from Rock Island into Davenport via the Centennial Bridge, ending at Harrison Street and W. 2nd Street.

Before the parade kicks off however, runners will hit the streets of Davenport for CASI’s  32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Race at 10 a.m. The race was set to start at Main and 2nd Streets.

Streets surrounding 3rd Street and Harrison begin closing at 5 a.m. Saturday to stage for the run. By 9:45 a.m. 3rd Street from Division to Brady will be closed for the parade and run. All streets were set to reopen by 1 p.m.

Davenport’s planned street closures for St. Patrick’s Day events

The St. Patrick Society of the Quad Cities said the City of Davenport planned to have a designated accessible viewing area on the south side of Ripley and W. 3rd Streets for people with disabilities.
