Family members say 55-year-old Alberto Alvarez left home to go visit a friend but never arrived at his destination.

The last time he was seen was about 5 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 at his home in the 4500 block of 8th Avenue in Rock Island.  Alvarez was driving a black 2000 Ford Excursion with Illinois license plate R585422.

His family reported him missing just before 11 p.m. that same night.

“Alvarez did not take his cell phone or medication with him, which is unusual,” said Rock Island Police Deputy Chief Jason Foy.

Alberto Alvarez is 55 years old, 5-feet 7-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.  He has white hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a blue striped dress shirt, gray suit pants, burgundy shoes and possibly a tie.

Anyone with information about Alberto Alvarez is asked to contact your local police department or Rock Island Police at (309) 732-2677.
