A Monmouth-Roseville principal has been named the Junior High School Principal of the Year in the State of Illinois.

Don Farr, Monmouth-Roseville Junior High School’s principal, received the 2014-2015 Principal of the Year title from Horace Mann and the Illinois Principals Association.

Among other criteria for winners, Farr won the award for having a positive impact on students, maintaining a positive staff and student morale, bringing positive changes, and working alongside teachers and staff to improve the education process.

Farr was selected from a collection of region nominees. He, along with the elementary, high school, and assistant principal of the year winners, will be recognized at the Illinois Principals Association’s annual fall conference in October 2014.

For winning the state title, Farr was granted the opportunity to participate in national principal of the year events.
