A 17-year-old Iowa girl spent hours trapped in her wrecked car before she was rescued.

A 17-year-old Iowa girl spent hours trapped in a wrecked car before she was rescued.

Taylor Peatrowsky said she took a drink of water as she drove to work Sunday, March 2, 2014.  That’s when she lost control of her car about three miles north of Treynor in Pottawattamie County, Iowa.

Peatrowsky’s car went into a ditch, struck and embankment and overturned, landing in a creek.  Her injuries prevented her from moving much, and she couldn’t find her cell phone.

“I found a dry sweatshirt in my car and put it over my arms and legs.  I just clenched my hands together to try to keep blood moving,” Peatrowsky said.

Her parents and friends began searching for her after and spreading a plea for help finding her after Peatrowsky didn’t show up for work according to WOWT.

She was trapped for about three hours before a neighbor found her.

She tried to yell for help many times, and she said she cried and prayed while she was trapped in her car according to KETV.

Peatrowsky suffered a broken pelvis in the crash according to our sister station, WHO-TV.  She was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Omaha.
