Bettendorf City Council members could start the application process for funding a $200 million sports and retail development on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014.

Local developer Todd Raufeisen has drawings of the plans for the "Spencer Creek" development on his website. The city wants a $200 million at the corner of I-80 and Middle Road. The development would include a sports complex, shopping center, and hotel. Raufeisen is also interested in building an indoor soccer, hockey, and basketball facility too.

The Bettendorf City Council meeting starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday. City leaders will vote on the measure Tuesday. Raufeisen says he will be in attendance. He also says construction could start next year. He hopes to have it done in 2016.

Raufeisen is also behind the Dock development on Davenport's riverfront. He believes construction on that site could still start in the fall of this year.
