The open enrollment period for the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, ends in less than a month.
Monday, March 3rd, 2014, Davenport Mayor Bill Gluba reminded people they have just 28 days left to enroll for Obamacare. Gluba was joined by representatives from both UnityPoint Health Trinity and Genesis Health System Monday morning.
In late February, the federal government announced that four million Americans had successfully signed up for health insurance using the new marketplace. More and more Americans are getting over the Healthcare.gov glitches that plagued the system for four months. Health care providers are still looking for more 26 to 40 year-olds to sign up.
Genesis recently opened up an enrollment center at 2nd and Main Street in the old Snap Fitness building in Davenport. Trinity also takes people by appointment at its three hospitals. You can call them at 888-275-5235. If you don't sign up for health insurance by March 31st, you have to pay $95 a year in penalties.
