Dixon man arrested on drug-related charges

A Dixon man was arrested on drug-related charges after officials found cannabis in his home.

Dixon Police Department said in an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the community, 36-year-old Eric Dixon was taken into custody on Friday, February 28, 2014.

On February 14 police said that they got a search warrant and searched Dixon’s home after learning about illegal drug activity there. While searching, the police department’s tactical response team found cannabis, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia.

Officials said that Dixon was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams. He was taken to the Lee County Jail and held on $10,000 bond.

Police expect to make more arrests in the investigation.
