Fed up with the bitter cold, News 8's Jason Fechner and Denise Hnytka demonstrated a Reverse Hunger Strike.

Day one of the strike began on Thursday, February 27, 2014. During the strike delicious treats would be shared among the staff, and until StormTrack 8 could make temperatures in the Quad Cities reach 32 degrees, they wouldn't get any of the yummy desserts.

On just day two, the strike ended. Much earlier than expected, after temperatures on Friday, February 28 rose above the freezing mark. As a reward for his good humor, Jason and Denise presented StormTrack 8 Meteorologist Terry Swails with six 2-liters of Mountain Dew.
