Police say they busted a Rock Falls teen when he allegedly sold marijuana to an undercover agent of the Sterling Police Department.
Richard Sotelo, 19, was arrested just after 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2014, when he made the deal in the parking lot of a Farm & Fleet store at 3913 Lincolnway in Sterling.
“Sotelo sold what was purported to be a half-ounce of cannabis to an agent of the Sterling Police Department,” according to police spokesman Sgt. Steven Hubbard.
Police said the cannabis had a street value of $145.
Sotelo was charged with felony unlawful delivery of cannabis and misdemeanor unlawful possession of cannabis.
Court records show Sotelo was appointed a public defender, and that he was released from the Whiteside County Jail after he posted 10% of his $10,000 bond.
