The Sherrard Education Association met at Sherrard High School Sunday, February 23, 2014 and voted in favor of the tentative contract agreement that was reached between the Sherrard School Board and the union's representatives late Sunday, February 16.

The meeting started at 1:50 p.m. and the decision was made around 4 p.m.  The vote reportedly yielded 96 percent in favor of the agreement.

"First we will be presenting the information to our membership about the tentative agreement. Then, as soon as we are done we will answer any questions they have and then we will take a vote on whether or not we will accept it," said Volkert.

The school board will be meeting again to ratify the contract.
