A Muscatine man was found guilty of lascivious acts with a child after his victim testified against him in court.
According to the Muscatine County Attorney’s Office, 65-year-old Aquiles Gonzalez Alvarado was found guilty on two counts of lascivious acts with a child on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.
Prosecutors say on multiple occasions, Alvarado had inappropriately touched a ten-year-old girl, who then testified against him in court.
“The ten-year-old victim was very brave and testified in court against her abuser,” said Muscatine County Attorney Alan Ostergren. “I am always impressed by how strong crime victims can be – especially children.”
Officials say sentencing for Alvarado was set for April 11. He could face up to 20 years in prison. The court ordered that he be held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
