The body of a missing Southern Illinois University student has been found.

According to a report by KTVI, the body of 19-year-old Pravin Varughese was found in a heavily wooded area in Carbondale after he had been missing for nearly one week.

Previous reports indicate that Varughese had been last seen at a party on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.

KTVI reported that Varughese got a ride home from someone at the party but at some point got out of the car. Police said he wandered into a wooded area.

The cause of death is under investigation, but officials said they do not suspect foul play was involved. Investigators are assuming he died of exposure. The body was reportedly found with no winter coat.

"This is a moment of unimaginable sorrow for the entire SIU community," said Chancellor, Rita Cheng. "The loss of a young life calls upon us to hold fast to those we care about and cherish every moment we share with them."

SIU planned to hold a moment of silence at Tuesday evening’s basketball game.
