The search is on for a Southern Illinois University student who was reportedly last seen at a party.
The Chicago Tribune reported that the family of 19-year-old Pravin Varughese was offering a $5,000 reward for information about the SIU sophomore who was last seen in Carbondale on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
There is an extra reward of up to $1,000 for information given to Crime Stoppers, said Carbondale Police.
According to the report, phone records show that Varughese called a Chicago friend at 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
The student’s Twitter account showed two tweets from after 11 p.m. Wednesday. One of them reads: “Bloody knuckles… guess I was in a fight.”
Varughese’s sister said her brother may have punched a wall or had a window fall on his hand, reported the Tribune.
Varughese is described as Indian descent, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, 150 pounds, short brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red shirt with dark blue jeans and purple shoes. His family has set up a Facebook page to help find him.
