Rock Island Teen Arrested After Shooting

A 19-year-old was taken to the hospital and then arrested after investigators say he shot himself during a disturbance.

It happened around 11pm on Saturday, February 15th, 2014.

Moline Police say they received information of a disturbance where shots were fired outside of Pine Ridge Apartments in Moline.

Officers found Brison Bea, 19, of Rock Island after he called police to tell them he had been shot. Bea was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was later released.

Investigators discovered that Bea shot himself during the disturbance and left the scene before officers arrived.

As a result, police say Bea was arrested for Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Not Having a FOID Card.
