A longtime business in the Quad Cities is closing its doors for a couple days before closing for good.

The Ben Franklin store near SouthPark Mall in Moline is closing Monday and Tuesday, February 17th and 18th, 2014. Employees say the store will reopen on Wednesday, February 19th, 2014 to sell off all its inventory.

Business owners say the economy is one of the reasons they're locking the doors.

Customers say they'll miss the craft store.

"I think you have less opportunity to find different things," says Pat Strahl. "I'm not a 'crafter' like a lot of people are, but I do enjoy being able to come in here and find unique things that you can't find elsewhere."

Items are expected to be discounted anywhere from 20-70% when the liquidation sale begins Wednesday, February 19th, 2014.

The craft store has 17 employees who will be losing their jobs.
