The National Weather Service forecast that the Quad City area could see anywhere from 1-3 inches of snow on Saturday, February 8, 2014.

“Dangerously cold air” is expected to arrive Sunday evening, producing wind chills of 20 – 34 below into Monday morning, according to the NWS.

“The bitterly cold temperatures will last through Tuesday, but with nearly calm winds Monday afternoon through Tuesday wind chills should remain above 20 below,” said a spokesperson from the NWS.

Affected counties include Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington, Louisa, Jefferson, Henry (Iowa), Des Moines, Van Buren, Lee, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Carroll, Whiteside, Rock Island, Henry (Illinois), Bureau, Putnam, Mercer, Henderson, Warren, Hancock, McDonough, Scotland, and Clark.
