An Illinois school district took a page from the viral video playbook and created a unique “school is closed” message of their own.
A principal and drama teacher from Kentucky may have started the trend when they sang their robo-call message cancelling school February 3, 2014.
Assistant Superintendent Todd Taylor put his own spin on that idea, and posted video of his announcement to USD 116 staff on YouTube Wednesday, February 5. The district shared it on their Facebook page.
The bonus for staff? Taylor sings the message, in which he blames the polar vortex, and not district superintendent Dr. Owen – for yet another snow day.
