Police said a woman died after a wreck involving several vehicles and a Metro Link bus on John Deere Road.
The wreck happened just after 8 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at the intersection of 60th Street and John Deere Road near the Menards and Blain’s Farm and Fleet stores.
Police said the bus was northbound on 60th Street when an eastbound vehicle crashed into the side of the bus. The bus continued north, colliding with a westbound car and a van that were stopped at the red light.
The car and van had extensive front end damage, but neither driver was hurt.
The woman driving the eastbound vehicle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her name was not yet released.
The bus driver was taken by his supervisors to an area hospital. Police said his medical condition was unknown.
Police said this is the first traffic fatality for 2014 in Moline.
