Rhythm City Casino was set to temporarily close as ownership changes.

Rhythm City Casino was set to temporarily close as ownership changes.

Developer Dan Kehl said that at midnight on Monday, February 3, 2014 Rhythm City Casino in Davenport would close while software and hardware was installed inside the facility.

A grand reopening was scheduled for Friday, February 7, 2014 with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved the Davenport casino’s sale on Thursday, January 9, 2014. According to Kehl, he plans to operate Rhythm City for about a year and a half. During that time he planned to raise funds from equity investors and work on the new casino’s design.

The estimated timeline would put a groundbreaking on a new land-based casino in the fall of 2014, with an opening the following year.
