One Month Later: The Search for Carrie Olson Needs Your Help

The 29-year-old friend and daughter has been missing for more than a month.

The 29-year-old friend and daughter has been missing for more than a month.

On Thursday, January 30th, 2014, friends and family are holding a fundraiser to continue their search efforts. Organizers say the event is also about raising awareness on Carrie Olson's case since it's been nearly five weeks since she disappeared. It takes place from 6-9pm at Rivals Sports Bar and Grill, 1720 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport.

Carrie was last seen the weekend before New Years. A surveillance camera recorded her getting gas at the 7-Eleven in Rock Island.

After that, her father says she disappeared.

"She doesn't show up for work," Dave Olson told News 8 on January 2nd, 2014. "She doesn't talk to her mom. There's something wrong, but we don't know what. I don't have any other answers."

More than one month later, family and friends still don't.

For the last four weeks, volunteers have been searching all around the area for any clue of Carrie. Her wallet, cell phone, laptop, and a navy blue blanket from her car is also missing.

Davenport Police are also involved. On Thursday, January 30th, 2014, Assistant Chief Don Schaeffer released a statement to News 8 reporting: "Both 'missing person' investigations are still active and we have not reduced the Investigators assigned.  The Investigators are following up on all leads and tips and encourage anyone that may have any information that may not have been reported, are asked do so.  They can do so by calling the Detective Bureau at (563) 888-2094 or the Station Supervisor at (563) 326-6125."

Meanwhile, rewards for any information on Carrie's whereabouts are growing. Per Mar Security Services is offering up to $10,000 and a fund by the family is taking donations at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.

The community - and country - are staying updated through a Facebook page that has more than 19,000 followers as of Thursday, January 30th, 2014.

Davenport Police are also looking for a man who went missing right before Christmas. 45-year-old Willis Hughes was last seen at his home on the night of December 21st, 2013.
