Updated Monday, January 27:
A boil order issued January 26 for part of the Rock Island Arsenal is rescinded as of Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014.

Arsenal officials issued the boil order for "select buildings at Rock Island
Arsenal after a weekend water main break" according to a statement issued January 26.
An exterior line servicing buildings 60, 61, 62, 75, and 360 broke over the
weekend.  Water in those locations was not to be used for cooking or drinking
unless it was boiled for at least five minutes.

Arsenal public works officials said Sunday that the boil order will remain in effect for these buildings until water testing, required by the Illinois Environmental Testing Agency, was complete.

In a notice declaring the boil order rescinded, a spokesman for the Arsenal said, "The resumption of food services on Arsenal Island affected by the boil order is to be determined."
