Education and jobs continue to be the focus of state lawmakers in Iowa.
Several state legislators that represent Scott County were in Bettendorf on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 to talk about those issues with residents.
Four groups - the Davenport Business and Professional Women, the Scott County Farm Bureau, the American Association of University Women, and the Iowa State Educators Association - organized the legislative forum.
Organizers say it's a way for local taxpayers to learn about what's going on in Des Moines.
"You have the chance to ask questions," says Kate King, Public Policy Chairman of the local chapter of the American Association of University Women. "If you really want to know why they did this or how come they haven't done this, this is your opportunity."
There will be two more forums taking place - Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 and Saturday, March 29th, 2014 from 10am-12pm. Both will be held at the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency, 729 21st Street, Bettendorf.
