Five people, including two children, reportedly died in a house fire near Arlington, Iowa.

The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at a home in the 5000 block of F Avenue in Fayette County.

Flames were reportedly visible more than a mile away from the burning home.

The intensity of the fire made it too dangerous for firefighters to go inside the burning house.

Five bodies had been recovered from the remains of the home by Friday afternoon according to KCRG.  A one-year-old and a four-year-old child were among the victims.  A family friend said the younger child was a girl and the four-year-old was a boy.

Officials believe they know who was in the home, but the victims’ identities must be confirmed by the state medical examiner’s office.
