Police say a Davenport woman is the person whose body was found in Centennial Park.

The discovery was reported Tuesday afternoon, January 21, 2014.  Later that evening, groups dedicated to the search for local missing persons had offered online confirmation that the body was not Carrie Olson, who has been missing since December 28, 2013.

Police confirmed Wednesday afternoon that the body found is that of 56-year-old Karen Hebbeln of Davenport.

A spokesman for the Davenport Police Department said police took an "attempt to locate" report from a man who told them Hebbeln left home at about 6 p.m. Monday, January 20, and had not returned by the next morning.  When the man tried to find Hebbeln and could not, he filed the report with police just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 21.

An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of Ms. Hebbeln's death.
