The Iowa Department of Transportation is showing off a new tool. The tool allows you to track where all of the state snow plows are out on the roads.

The tool even shows you what direction the plows are heading in. There were close to 300 state snow plows out on the roads in Iowa, as of about 6 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014. Locally, some of those snow plows were out on both I-74 and I-80.

As of about 6:30 a.m., I-74 south of I-280 was covered in snow, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. I-74 in Iowa was completely covered in snow  north of the Mississippi River at 6:30 a.m., according to the Iowa Department of Transportation. Travel cameras showed that the bridge had been cleared though.

A spokesman for the Davenport Public Works Department said they had 35 snow plows out on the roads Tuesday morning. Moline and East Moline crews confirmed they had snow plows out as well.
