Dozens of people spent some time in Davenport enjoying some seasonal artwork.
On Saturday, January 18, 2014 families gathered downtown for Ice Stravaganza to watch sculptors make art out of ice.
Executive Director of Downtown Davenport Partnership Kyle Carter said this was the event’s second year. They saw a lot of families braving the cold and snow to come out to the event.
“We’re so heavy on summer events and that’s very Midwestern of us but we’re trying to do more year round,” Carter said. “We’re really just trying to help people understand what else is down here and this is kind of the hook to get people down and then get them out in the rest of downtown.”
One of the sculptors was an award-winning ice sculpture artist. Next year event organizers say them hope to add more ice sculptors to the event.
