Police: Woman beaten and held against her will for hours in Davenport hotel

Police say a woman was kidnapped, held prisoner and repeatedly assaulted in a Davenport hotel for nearly nine hours before she got away.

Police say a woman was kidnapped, held prisoner and repeatedly assaulted in a Davenport hotel for nearly nine hours before she got away.

Investigators said the victim showed up at a local hospital Thursday evening, January 16, 2014.  She reportedly told them 26-year-old Aaron Stinde, of Davenport, had beaten and choked her to the point of unconsciousness as part of repeated assaults on her that started at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 15.

Police said the assaults continued for nearly nine hours until the victim eventually escaped.

Stinde allegedly left the hotel in the victim's car.

Police arrested Stinde Friday, January 17.  Police charged Stinde with first-degree kidnapping, domestic assault by impeding air flow, two misdemeanor counts plus one felony count of second-degree sex abuse and one count of operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

Court records show Stinde had faced prior assault charges at other times 2011 and in 2013, and that he was convicted in Scott County in connection with assault charges twice in 2011.

Stinde was held without bond in the Scott County Jail.
