To help teach kids good social habits and discourage bullying, an animal mascot from the Quad Cities has reached out to the internet to spread his message.

Pete the Purple Bull is a role model for children learning how to empathize, tolerate, and respect one another. Pete’s mission is to teach children how to behave in social settings in fun and interactive ways.

Director of the Pete the Purple Bull Campaign, Kim Riley-Quinn, said they created a Facebook page, Twitter account, and website to reach more kids.

“We have lost ground in this area as our society has moved toward social media as a common form of communication rather than real-time person to person interaction,” Quinn said.
