Iowa Governor Terry Branstad will visit Davenport and Muscatine on Thursday, January 16th, 2014.

Governor Branstad will likely talk about jobs on the campaign trail. He is making a stop in 13 different cities from Thursday through Saturday, January 18th, 2014. It comes just two days after he made his Condition of the State Address.

Governor Branstad made his announcement in West Des Moines, Iowa Wednesday. He says that Iowa's unemployment is 4.4%. It is the fifth lowest in the nation. He claims the state has created 130,000 jobs over the past four years. He also says the state could produce a total of 200,000 jobs once 2014 is over.

"I pledge to you tonight to continue to work hard for a brighter future for all Iowans," Governor Branstad said Wednesday. "This is a future we can build, we must build, and we build together."

Governor Branstad will be at Elly's Tea and Coffee House at 4:30 p.m. in Muscatine. He'll be at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Davenport at 6 p.m. Thursday. The events are free and open to the public, but you do need a ticket.
